TIP takes a look at rapid reporting on major weather events and natural disasters, where the stories and events speak of human specifics, but hint at a bigger picture. There are warning signs all around us – within the scapes of media, the sea and the land. In a stream of evidence that points to the tangible reality of climate change, there are choices to be made by media on what to report and by the reader on how to respond. Are we being educated into action, entertained into distraction, or simply notified that somewhere, something is happening? If we don’t feel an emergency, will we notice an exit? TIP asks us to step into the stream of stories from atop a melting iceberg of information, in a sphere perhaps too distracting to register the movement of changing patterns.
